Looking for a bishops bag with two drawstring end closures

I am trying to find a commercially made stuff stack that has an opening on each end that can be closed with a drawstring on each end so I can use it as a bishops bag for my Hennessy hammock. The reason I looking to do this versus a traditional bishop bag design with the small hole on the closed (bottom side)is because I found that I had to have all the hardware and straps on the small hole end of the bag left outside of the bag because it doesnt fit through the small hole on the bottom end of the bag. Hard to explain but maybe you get the picture.

You're looking for a dual closure stuffsack, and the only commercial source for them that I know of is Warbonnet.

A 'Bishop Bag' by definition does not have two closures.

I doubt that you will find a "commercially available" bag like you want. If you can sew or know someone who can, you could modify a store bought bag to do what you want. Just sew 2 cord channels on the closed end of a relatively big stuff sack and cut out a hole, sew another cord channel next to the one that is already there from the manufacturer.

My latest bag has 4!! cord channels, 2 on each end. Looks like a who'd a thought it bologna, but it does the job. Big compartment for the hammock and quilt in the middle, a small compartment on each end for the the straps and Dutch hooks.

IMO it would be easier to make one from scratch than to modify a commercial bag. A very easy beginning project.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

A Big Agnes Pumphouse might be what you are looking for.

It has a roll-top closure on the big end and a drawstring on the other, narrower, end. It's meant for filling up air mattresses. Sounds weird but it works well for that, considering it's just a dry-bag with openings at each end.

Agreed! Here's one I made using elastic in place of drawstrings, but it's the same basic idea. It was one of my first stuff sack projects.

Definitely toss Paul at Arrowhead Equipment an email if you want one made.

If you decide to make your own, this might help. It's how I do them.

A: Fold the corners in (this gives the drawcord channels a nice finished edge),
B: Roll Hem for the drawcord channels.
C: Sew up the side, flip inside out, and do it again about 3/8" away from edge (for a finished seam on the inside).

I find it's easier to add the drawcord after - put a safety pin on the end of the draw cord and feed it through.

A vid guide to making that style of drawstring channel is in "We Don't Sew... We make Gear" series. The "Make it your own" episode.

The Hennesy open cell foam pad stuff sack would work ... I find it easier to get the pad in and out of a slightly larger standard stuff sack anyway.
