    Dream UGQ pack hook option

Now that have an extended hang under my tarp with my Dangerbird, I am looking into a UQ to stay warm.
Dream recommends using UGQ, so I looked into it (as well as other options) and am curious if the Dream pack hook mod for the Zepplin UQ is even necessary? Basically looking for some feedback before dropping some $$$ on an important item.
    Thanks.

It does help the quilt stay in place. You only need it on your shoulder side

I have the pack hook mod on both of my UGQ underquilts. Since I'm a right lay only person, I only use the mod on the left side of the UQ. I guess it would make sense to get both sides done if you may end up selling it later, but as Bla1z3 says, you only use the one on your outside shoulder.

It does a great job of locking the UQ to your outside shoulder. No uq slipping off in the middle of the night as you move around.

Does that mean most other Underquilts slide off, around, or bunch up too much, or is the pack hook mod, in a manner of speaking, more like an insurance policy?

Perhaps other folks with different experiences can share their thoughts on this.
We have insulation from 4 different vendors. Some of them fit snugly to the bottom of the hammock with very little movement and we've got one underquilt that slips and slides around easily as well as has a real bad habit of developing gaps around the edges as you move through the night.

The UGQ underquilts that we have are equipped with a fairly robust shock cord suspension which I think hugs the bottom of the hammock a little better. We have not tried many of the newest quilts so others may have info on these.

I have used my HG 20* Burrow and Incubator with an ENO DL, Dutch's 11 footers of different fabrics and my 11'Roaming Gnome (Hyper-D), but I have only been down to around 34-35 degrees. The hooks might be handy, but I have only had troublesome slippage when I slacked the UQ to vent a little, when it is snug it doesn't move much. It might also depend on the hammock fabric, it adjusts easier on some and sticks better on others?

Edit: The Smurfs's Hammocks are great!!

AHE new river long you can see how the hook is used right of the light rear look for the reflection. Works great lifting the underquilt on all 4 hooks both sides DB. Also used UGQ 60" underquilt.

Just putting my two cents in here. I have an SMR ninox and my 20 degree HG incubator never use pack hooks because the way the SMR is you can't use them with HG but once I'm in my hammock and settled in. Nothing really moves around during the night when everything is set up properly.
