Nice gear display! One of these days I may move up to a better quality knife. Got to get me a tarp w/ doors on the ends too!
You probably already know this, but cotton balls will generally leave dryer lint in the dust when it comes to POOFING up in flames
Pretty cheap too. Just make sure it's really cotton & not synthetic.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Yeah I actually made up some candle wax dunked cotton balls earlier this week. Decided to give up on the lint for now. Candle wax is even better than petroleum jelly on cotton balls IMHO - they burn for what seems like forever. Good stuff!

Funny, back in the "bad old days" of being a groundling, I bought gear & used it unchanged & without question. Yes, I had some "dual purpose" gear, but it was designed to do double duty, rarely did I alter it or use it for un-designed for purposes.
Then I found out about WB thanks to Jack Tarlin, & things started to change,,,, some.
Then I got here & OMG: My list of gear that is unchanged or not being used for things it wasn't designed for is tiny, some would say microscopic. Seems that us hangers tend to play with our gear more than the groundlings do. I suspect that it is just a symptom of the illness of groundlings have, in that they don't take a full interest in their gear.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

I suppose that might be that as we make so much of what we use; (even if you don't make everything you use, you might have made a test model before buying a better edition) that we can see how the bits work together to do the job, and how some of the bits might contribute to doing other jobs...
