Name is Dan and I am new to hammock camping. I came to this site seeking help. I recently joined a paddle group that does occasional overnight camping. In my first group meeting, I learned that most members choose hammocks rather than tents. So I have lots of questions about the right gear to buy, without breaking the bank. I need a complete hammock setup for perhaps 5 -6 overnight trips a year. I'm open to all suggestions. I'm hoping to get my hammock education at this site. Your help is appreciated

Welcome from Wisconsin!! Since you're looking for values, swing over to the Arrowhead Equipment (aka AHE) forum and check out the sales going on now. There are many vendors these days with inexpensive hammocks that are just super such as Dutchware, Infinity Outfitters, etc....

dlfred1... You are in a good area for hangs. The thread will probably start soon for the annual LA 2015 hang at Kincaid lake. Great time with excellent food. Check out the forum thread from last year.
