Red Pine Lake- Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah

It has been a long time since I posted anything, but not since I slept in my hammock. This was my first time up here. The hike is 3 miles and 2,000' in elevation gain. I stayed at the lower lake for a solo overnighter. The weather was perfect. I'm still rocking out the WBBB copy I made 5 or 6 years ago. As I was taking pictures, a hiker asked where the camping spots were to which I said right here and noted that I was on the other side of the lake in the hammock. He asked if I was in the WBBB near the entrance and said he bought one and had already been out 5 times in it.

I got to the lake around 6pm and people were still showing up at 10pm. I left around 8am the next morning.

It was a moonless night, so I was able to see the Milky Way in spite of the noise pollution, and was still seeing remnants from the meteor shower from the night before. I got some good shots. My Milky Way shots, not so much.

It was great to get out and a good place to be.

sweet dude! I was up there in my black bird a season or two ago as well.
I'm always itchin to go out, especially with other hangers, hit me up anytime.

I'm thinking of going up to white pine Lake or elsewhere in LCC on Sunday early afternoon and head back out around 8am Monday morning. Odd time, but that's how my schedule works out this week. PM me.

Says you can't accept private messages. Hmmmm... I think I can swing white pine tho. I've been meaning to get there for a while, but I always go to red pine. I'll touch base with you on Saturday mate.

Great pictures. They look like paintings! We visited your area last summer for the fist time and absolutely loved it.

Love it, brings up good memories. Here in MS, I have framed pics on my wall of me in shorts, soaking up the rays with snow still on the ground, (I think it was July ~25 years ago), at the foot of Dromedary/Superior. Over in Big Cottonwood, Lake Blanch, looking south. I visited Red/White pine, but just don't happen to have pics on the wall for that. Great country!
