Anyone ever done a hammock in the Canadian Rockies?

    Hey folks,

I'm heading out to Jasper National Park in Alberta Canada in a few days for eight days of solo backpacking on the north boundary trail. This wasn't the trip I originally planned- but had to cancel my previous plans in Banff NP due to a forest fire and go with back up route. That route had a lot of above tree line hiking and camping, so I was only going to tarp it on the ground. Now this new trail is mostly mountain meadows, with two mountain passes but none I will be camping on. So now I'm debating bringing my hammock. Only I'm unsure of whether its doable in the mountains as I've never done it before- last time I was there I stayed in a tent, and wasn't really scouting good hanging options because it was before I was a hammock camper. I'm thinking yes on bringing it, with maybe a tiny bit of tyvek just in case- but if anyone has experience and can make me more confident I will leave the tyvek at home.

    TIA! Alex

Was in Laird Hot Springs in the Fall of '95 (which is due East of Skagway Alaska) and if you get the chance, check it out!

I've done 2 trips to Jasper in the last month. Check out my videos. The first was in a campground so it doesn't really count. The second was up the Fryatt Valley Trail. You gave to be very aware of your altitude and the lack of trees if you want to hang. I've never done the North Boundary Trail but I believe most of it is above the treeline for the most part.
