I think I will contact them myself.l like my Amok but I don't like not being able to use the foot box correctly. I figure the moment I have any changes done that will probably wipe out any resale value. It's like being between the rock and a hard spot.

I'm thinking it would help resale. From just reading these forums and comments on their FB page, there is a pretty big demand for the XL. I agree with Shug, having a foot box mod would be a selling point.

Thanks for explaining, makes sense regarding the direction of the tubes. I want the Amok. I just need to keep reading, posting, and then list my JRB for sale.
I'm clear now on the pad, how about the tarp, I have a JRB tarp, I think it should work.
I enjoy your videos, I hadn't thought about the string line planes in over 50 years. As a 10 year old, I spent many hours going around in circles!

The more I study the AMOK, the more I agree, the tarp design is part of the system. I am a 3 season user, and even if I start year round, weather here in Tennessee is not that bad. I already have a larger, rectangular tarp, but I can always use it for one of the kids or grandkids.

I sent 2Q an e-mail about changing the foot box hope they got it, their web site is a little confusing for me at least. Hopefully I'll get an answer after the holiday is over.

Thanks Shug! I'll take some measurements of the fellas' shortfall and find some sturdy material to to a little stitchery doo for them.

Are you meaning that the footbox is longer over the end of the pad... or bigger around inside. That orange one there looks droopier than my 3.0 foot
