Just for the record, the SynMat 7 UL *is* insulated, but uses 100g less microfibre than the regular-weight version. It also uses 20 D fabric on both sides which further saves on weight.

So close to pulling the trigger. Or at least on the christmas list so plenty of time in reality. This will be my first hammock. The tarp seems very small. Is anyone using a larger tarp? Which one?
I use the stock tarp. I also use an exped ul lw mat. Works great, though I did get wet when the rain was blowing sideways at 40mph.
I fell out the head end while adjusting my sleeping bag to be fully extended above my head. It was getting chilly. About 4 inches movement towards the front end and I was upended and a 3.5 foot drop to the ground on my head and back. My fault. The balance is a bit touchy. But how I love being able to sleep comfortably on my side.

Anyone tried a different tarp for the draumr? Have a Hennessey Hex tarp. Its gonna provide me with alot more room at the sides but its about 20 cm "shorter" (if u count at the center tie out point on the original tarp). So my main concern is do I get my head or feet wet?
I need to try my superfly with the Dramr - I've read on here it works as I recall...
