    MEMBRANE silpoly - 1 oz/sq yd, 2000 mm HH

We've had a lot of people asking when the 2.0 version of MEMBRANE sil will be ready, so I wanted to provide an update.

What we've created is MEMBRANE silpoly - minimal stretch, 1 oz/sq yd, and >2000 mm hydrostatic head. To my knowledge, this is the lightest and most water-resistant tarp fabric ever made available

The first production lot is due around month's end, but I have been testing and building with the yardage I have now. Here's a sneak peak...

You can check out the specs and what not here: http://ripstopbytheroll.com/collections/new-products. I haven't decided whether we will do any PRE-SALE with this yet, but I have added a notification system that will allow you to get an email/text soon as we have it in stock.

We're also looking at giving away this first tarp, so stay tuned for that. Have a great day!

    Rad. I vote pre-sale, even though I don't need a new tarp.

I don't need a new one either, but I'm thinking I need the practice!

Do you know where the cost will end up? By the yard or half?

Some relevant info on the coating quality can be found here: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-...read_id=105800.

This is an independent review and comparison of our 1.1 oz Silpoly 2nd Gen PU4000 against several other leading fabrics in this category.

We will be using this same coating process on the MEMBRANE silpoly.

I haven't pegged down the price yet, but it will be reasonable and definitely lower than the $9.50 /yd price point of the original Membrane sil. Sold by the whole yd.

Keeps getting lighter and more waterproof; is there any trade-off? Durability, for example

We are getting settled in our new shop now, so we may do a pre-sale. I do want to wait until I have concrete date we can begin shipping though.
