Evening all. Well I've been thinking that if I can gather the last of my gear and convince my wife I would like to attend. So put me down as a maybe for Saturday morning. This will end up as my first hammock trip if I come out.

"Hey honey. I'm going to hike into the woods to meet up with total strangers I found online. We're staying in the woods to act homeless for a few days. That sound good to you?"

This is usually how it sounds at first. But, these guys and gals are a great bunch of folks. A lot of wives like to hang with us as well. Glad you're coming aboard.

That's about how it sounded in my head also. She'll lay in the hammock its just that whole hiking thing she doesn't quite agree with.

Mine is the same way. She loves to hike and lay in the hammock. But The over night in the woods in the middle of no were with no bathroom or sink is not her idea of fun.

I order the new hammock kit from arrowhead today. Hopefully everything comes in before the trip.

Am I just getting old and forgetful, or aren't there two parking areas at Pat's Landing? I seem to recall one area to the west of the trail and one to the east of the trail. Each is about 50 yards either side of where the trail bisects the Forest Road.
