Yes, it could be done in two full days. I personally think doing the trip clockwise would be best for somebody that doesn't have their trail legs.
That has you going down the steeper section of Albert Mtn, and you would avoid the long uphill going up Standing Indian.
I have a video in my YouTube channel on the trail that includes an elevation chart at the begging that may help.

It can be done. There is good camping at or near the Carter Gap Shelter, which would split your mileage into 12.6 and 11.7 miles if you hike counterclockwise like I did. I'm not sure which direction I would recommend. The Kimsey Creek Trail is just a pleasure to climb, but you would have to hike continuously from the lowest point to the highest point going CC. Clockwise, you have to tackle the steepest section on the trail day 1, but you do get to descend on the less steep face of Albert. I think I would recommend clockwise, but either is fine.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
    Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

Nice write up. That loop has a special place in my heart as it was the first place I ever hiked the AT back in 1970-something. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words. I think this was my first time hiking anything over a mile or two on the AT, so we have that in common. What a place to start!

Awesome Review and Video. I have been looking for a 3 day loop to do or a section of the MST. I have sent the info to my friend that would be doing it with me. Thanks for helping me clear my mind and choosing a trip.
HANG WELL MY FRIENDS AND HANG IN THERE!
