    First night

Well I must say I am impressed.

My first night in the hammock in the south was about 69° at the low and my thermarest pad and a fleece throw worked great.

I tended to slip down so I will raise the foot slightly but I think I slept better here than in my own bed in the house.

I woke up with a headache, but I think I need to figure out what to do with my head. I think my pillow was too thick.

First thought... Not sure how I could go back to the ground. I am more than happy.

Sounds like my first night in a hammock. Lots of good info around here so it only gets better!

It gets better each time as you modify your hang and the way you lie. I've had some of my most comfortable nights ever in a hammock. Welcome to the club!

After over a decade of hammocking, I've finally weened myself of a pillow - with the exception of deep winter.

In my DIY 11ft. hammock, I don't seem to require one. And since my bugnet completely encapsulates the entire hammock with space created from guy points, I can even rest my head on the edge of the hammock for a change of position and/or a better view.
