Great review, Shug!
I might consider one of these for my wife, who is not a hammocker. She has trouble getting in and out of a gathered end or bridge hammock.
Good job!

Great review. I saw these a few months back but your review was very comprehensive. I like the disappearing boot trick at 2:30. I watch until the end waiting for the out-takes. Did you gain your knowledge of the tipping issue first hand?
I am sure we will see those clips in a future video.

“An optimist is a man who plants two acorns and buys a hammock.” ― Jean de Lattre de Tassigny
I had the first model and loved it....most comfortable hammock I've ever been in with no shoulder squeeze and the flatest lay ive ever had in a hammock. The new model has alot of features that would make me purchase again. Weight is not an issue as I did many 20+ mile days when I had mine. The only issue that bugged me was if the air mattress developed a hole +20 miles in the backcountry you are SOL. It bugged me so much I sold it but I have truly missed it. The ease of setup is amazing also.
Shug, While i exceed the limits on this one, i realloy enjoyed the review, loved the rainstorm..lol I can only imagine what breakfast from the hammock will be like now..I like the response from mac that this might be the ticket for those who have problems getting in and out or perhaps dont care for hammocks yet..and the cost breakdown was very good, put things in perspective. Look forward to more of the BEANSTALKER in future videos.. we as a collective thank ye
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet
That looks like a good setup for a college dorm. A hammolounger!!!
I believe my daughter, MountainGoat, is going to take her Mayan hammock to college next year. There is something to be said for the small size, and ease of putting it out of the way. OTOH, an Amok can be hung under a bunk bed... just pull it away from the wall a bit!

That is a great looking rig. Almost looks like something out of a science fiction story. I'll be looking at those in the future, for sure. May need to wait for the bigger version if it ever comes to be. I seem to be right at the edge of "comfortable for those 6' and under" on most things. Sometimes it's true for me, sometimes it isn't.
I understand the weight issue for some folks, but I think for most people it's still lighter than a lot of tent setups and it's got to be a whole lot more comfortable than sleeping on the ground.
In the video it appears that one could use trees that are pretty close together to hang this. Is that the case or just camera angle trickery? Or did you mention that already and I missed it (always a possibility).
If your lucky enough to be outdoors, your lucky enough!
