    I could, but I'm almost out of half inch grosgrain, and doing edge bonding with grosgrain is kind of frustrating because it doesn't want to stay folded unless I take the time to iron it.

    When I found out they were out of stock, I would have come home, ordered it online and had it a few days later. You might want to consider that option.

    I have cut narrow strips of lightweight nylon (ripstop or taffeta, preferably coated as it doesn't unravel easily). Durable, light and cheap.

    That's not a bad idea. Sadly the only scraps I have on hand are olive yellow silpoly, which would look hideous with blaze orange. Even though it'd be inside the pack only it would still bother me.

    If you would like to make your own continuous bias tape in the future, there are many tutorials out there....https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...uous+bias+tape

    This allows you to match your fabric if desired.
