Xenon sil now available at Dutchwaregear.com

I have been working on a light weight, very low stretch, tarp material for some time now. The result is Xenon Sil with a finished weight of 1.1 ounce per sq yard. I made a hex tarp out of it with a 10' 7" ridgeline and it came in at 8.5 ounces with ridgeline, stuffsack, and tie outs. It has no problems seam sealing with silicone based seam sealer, I use silnet, and has a strong ripstop grid. I have 4 colors to begin with but I was so encouraged with the first order that I will be expanding the colors in the next month. So far I have Black, Coyote Brown, Dark Olive, and Deep Purple.

Oh no! Not another space age fabric that's better than yesterday's space age fabric, but not quite as good as tomorrow's space age fabric....... I want some.

Our ultralight AND affordable camo sil options are very limited anywhere. Although the camo manufacture itself adds to cost, it could be a great option. Would love to see this specific part of the market grow.
Nonetheless awesome to see this come to market and looking forward to the first reports and diy builds to come about. That purple would be an amazing color for a tarp for my daughter.

It comes in just under 1.1 per yard. I have been using it for my tarps, stuff sacks, and pack covers.

I'm guessing the 1000 psi is a typo in the description since that would be over 700,000 mm.

How does this compare with the sil argon? I loved the weight and look of the argon, but the stretch wasn't ideal for tarps.

Yeah, I will fix that. I think it is like ARGON sil without the stretch. I have used it on my recent hiking trips on the long trail and the AT in Massachusetts and despite rain and wind the tarp was as taunt and when I set it up. I like a taunt tarp and I didn't use tensioners.
