    Simply Light Designs Trail Lair?

I am wondering if anyone on HF has used the Trail Lair hammock from Simply Light Designs. It is one of the few (if not the only) non-DIY hammock with an integrated bug net that has a 12' option that I am aware of on the market (although correct me if I am wrong). I would love to know what any of the users think of it.

Just received my Trail Lair yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to do anything more than hang it up in the back yard. Ordered 07/15 and received it 07/20. What I can tell you is that Jared was a pleasure to work with, answering my emails very quickly. It's a quality piece and I can't wait to spend some quality time in it!

Quite a few have used it. Seems like a great hammock - definitely comparable in price and quality to the other cottage vendors. I'm considering picking one up myself!

I have one and its great! Jared does fine work, and if min3 wasn't so heavy I'd use it as my backpacking hammock but at double 2.3 it's quite heavy. But oh huh so comfy, if not him try v_Allen here at th e forum, he's currently making bridge hammocks for us bigger folk but he also makes other gear too. Good luck!
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet

Thanks for adding that link! I'm an owner of a TL 1.6 10 footer (grey) since June 2014. Very comfortable and it's my go to hammock for bug season. FYI, the double zipper option is well worth it when setting up in spots where your not quite sure which side of the hammock access to.

I bought a dual layer 1.1 Trail Lair in April and have spent about 15 nights in it so far. I love it. Top notch construction. Very comfortable. I went with the retractable option on the bug net and a fixed ridgeline. I really love this thing. I highly recommend it! As others have said, Jared was great to work with and VERY fast! Just FYI-have you seen the notice on his home page?

I'm 6'5", 230. I have a dozen hammocks, including a WWBB XLC (which is awesome, BTW), and my 11' X 64" DL 1.1 SLD TL is my favorite. I also have a 12' X 72" SLD DL 2.3 Tree Runner, with a Nexus Net, and it's awesome, too, but much heavier than the TL. I highly recommend SLD.

After using a bunch of different lengths and widths, I've found that 11' X 64/66" is great for me. If you're car camping, or more than a couple inches taller than me, I can see where more length or width would be good and comfy.

I am 6'9" and have a WBBB XLC an dI like it a lot but i think the 12' option and extra width on the SLD might be more comfortable. Thanks for your input!
