Hi, I'm trying to save weight in my pack. If I buy a 3/4 UQ can I use a small portion of reflectix to insulate my feet? I'm talking about going into the 20s or maybe high teens.

Depends on if you are a warm sleeper in a hammock. I used an HG 20* Phoenix UQ for a couple of years, down to a low of 13* F. However, my feet did get cold. I now have a 0* Incubator for temps 20* F and below.

Yeah. YMMV, but I only have 3/4 UQs and do the same. Socks are your friends, and when it's really cold use the reflectix and your pack under your feet. In winter I keep a couple of hand warmers around just in case. Good luck.
Crayons - they might look different, but they all taste the same
I'm a huge drum beater for reflectix. However while it think it'd help marginally, youd get waaaay more bang for your buck of actual warmth by zipping your rain jacket or fleece over your footbox. Or get slippers.
Gotta agree with Slo on this one. Reflectix is great stuff but I wouldn't depend on it keeping my feet warm in those temps by itself.
At 28F I could tell my feet were colder than the rest of me just using reflectix. I wasn't uncomfortable at all, but I was happier the next night at the same temperature with a fleece throw stuffed in the bottom of my sleeping bag.
This might seem a little silly or maybe obvious. It was to me.
I carry Reflectex for a sit pad, with the intent of using in my footbox, but found that stuffing my down jacket under my legs and feet, just works better. I use a 3/4 length UQ. Legs and feet stay way warmer, and I always know where my jacket is when I need it, and it's already nice and warm for me.

I suspect feet are just naturally colder than other parts of our bodies. What works fine from the head to the ankles just needs a little extra oomph when it comes to the tootsies. In really cold weather I've started augmenting the foot area of my insulation as well ( car camping I bring an extra fleece throw ).
