If the woods are that scary and dangerous maybe folks should stay at home in bed. No wait more people die in bed!

Me? I'm more afraid of the drivers on the way to the parks.

Very cool Video. I have those around me when I hike. Always thinking about them. I'm a bit at ease though since I've made my Fronkey Style Bug net. If it can cover me in a hammock it can certainly cover a cat like that.
I'm thinking about sewing a bit of fabric with a face on it to hang off the back of my hat. Maybe a pick of Arnold Swartzchenhegger or Rosie O Donell.. not sure yet. Heard that they sell hats like that in India for the tigers.

I shall search and find them just for the comedic value!

There's a disclaimer on those nets that they repel cougars.
Haha Rosie would for sure do the trick.

Three North American animals worry me; polar bears, gators, and big cats. Cougars are probably the least dangerous of the 3 and thankfully little chance of any of them where I camp (theoretically cougars can be around but the're ridiculously rare).

Seeing a cougar in daylight just sitting and staring would freak me out, not so much that it was around but because that type of behaviour is so out of the ordinary. Makes a good story once you got home safe though.

Nicely handled Fronkey. I know if that happened to me, I wouldn't be able to share another story with anyone about anything for at least the next year or two haha

I bet you didn't have your car keys with you. Otherwise you could have jiggled them saying "here kitty kitty!"

Forget bears...these guys would scare me the most. Luckily there are just a couple around in the whole state...even then the spottings were most likely a "pet" someone released or got loose.
