    Down Quilt Question

OK, so brought on by 1) Dutch selling Argon 90 for $6 today, and 2) My wife scoring a bunch of old Altra DIY down coat kits at the Goodwill yesterday, I've decided to go ahead and make some Down kit before winter comes around... because nothing makes you long for 20° nights like 100° days, am I right?

So here's my question, has anyone tried filling their DIY down quilt with DAMP down? I was thinking about laundering it anyway since this down has been in plastic bags for like 30 years, and if i'm going to get it wet anyway I thought about how much easier it would be to weigh out and fill it while it's slightly damp! Am I nuts, or is this totally common?

    Thanks, y'all
