Hello from Sacramento CA

So I finally pulled the trigger and picked up a Grand Trunk SBP this past weekend. First test hang in my back yard went great. I have spent a couple months researching many different brands of hammocks and even flirted with the idea of a DIY hammock. Only because I do not have a reliable sewing machine at the moment, I went ahead and bought my first one. I'm looking forward to some overnights in Desolation Wilderness. HF is the best place for information and it's what got me to finally become a full time hammock camper. And of course Shugs videos. Can't wait to get started. It needs to be the weekend already.

I will be back in Sacramento (lived there for 6 years a while back) Friday picking up my kids from their Aunts on the way to a few days in Tahoe for a family reunion. Bringing the hammocks for some evenings under the stars in the mountains. Can't wait! (also hitting Oroville, Paradise, Roseville, Lincoln, Novato, and San Jose - no grass growing under our feet for sitting still)

Desolation wilderness is where I learned to backpack as a teenager. Great memories of ice bridges on cliff lake above Stony Ridge Lake ...

I'm definitely interested in group hangs. I'd like to get out somewhere this weekend, though most of the permits for DW are taken already. And I am VERY unfamiliar with territory here in terms of camping. (Originally from San Diego) So it will be interesting to get started.
