Question REQ: Assistance in selecting fabric density...(confused)

    Greetings,

I am planning to purchase a "Hammeck Netty" in the upcoming 2 weeks and would like more information on the fabric thickness differences. The Warbonnet Blackbird that I recently purchased is 1.1 dual layer and I do like that, in spite of not liking the hammock design.

I would like to know which selection of material thickness will closest replicate that experience.

If worse comes to worse, I would like to know more about the following fabric choices:
    - ARGON 1.6 - Woodland Camouflage
    - NylonD 1.6 - Woodland Camouflage
(Yes, I would prefer whatever fabric I choose to come in "woodland camouflage" if possible)

    Thank you much,
    Dm

I'm quite partial to the NylonD 1.6 myself. I've never tried an Argon hammock though.

Would you happen to know what the difference in those two materials is?
It doesn't say what they are on the Hammeck website (that I could find).

If you are trying to replicate a dual layer 1.1 in a single layer, the most common option is 1.9 oz. nylon.

Hey Detman! Did you see our fabric page? http://www.hammeck.com/fabric/

In particular, the ARGON has a bit more texture. It's most similar to a cotton fabric, in terms of feel. The NylonD is a bit smoother/slicker.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks!

Oh no, I hadn't seen that page! I will check it out now. I just fired off an email to your company with the same info as this thread here.

    Thank you!

Awesome! I think I'm going with the argon for mine too! I don't think I want this hammock too slick lol.

That ENVY S is one nice hammock. I got the ACU Camo and that thing is huge inside. You will enjoy it.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I'm going to order a Netty soon. I can't wait til it arrives. With the 4-5 week order time I should be just in time for winter...lol.
The wait is even more than Warbonnets but I'm sure it will be worth it. My wife loves my WBBB so its hers when the Netty arrives.
