    Rotary Cutting Tool Deal!

I've been seriously contemplating purchasing a rotary cutter tool for sometime now. Just happen to stop in to a Jo-Ann's and found a 50% off coupon on their website and picked up my rotary tool for half off! Coupon expires at close of business today. If you've got a store close by, might be worth a look as the coupon applies to any regular priced item with some exceptions.

Somehow, I'm sure the extra money I saved will end up being spent on some Dutch bling

Good deal. I love my rotary cutter that I got from JoAnns a long time ago. So much better than scissors!

After I reveled in the glory of my awesome deal ($57 tool/mat/ruler package deal for only $28!) and flexed my deal-finding muscles to my wife, she took the wind out of my sails by informing me that Jo-Ann's and Hobby Lobby run that kind of coupon all the time. I thought I was sharing real gem of a find for everyone here, but I'm just a noob DIYer finding out what the in-crowd already knew :/

I'm still super stoked bout by new toy, though

They'll text the coupons to your phone if you sign up for it. I got a sweet deal on their ripstop last month with a 60% off coupon.

Anyone buying from Joanns without at least a 40% off coupon is making a mistake. They have them so often I think of 40% off as the normal price.

Now you need a nice hefty long straight edge to go with it. I like using a piece of angle aluminum.

brilliant. being new to the 'giant pieces of cloth need sewing' game i have discovered that the scissors of the freeworld suck soooo so bad. also, dyneema is the meanest string since ever. does the rotary cutting tool really make it easier to trim the slevedge and follow lines and such? is it worth the investment? is there a brand/type to stay away from?

The pack I got had a long, clear straight edge that works well. I also need something longer...angle aluminum is a great idea.
