Firstly, many thanks to this forum and theultimatehang.com for teaching me about the different kinds of hammocks, ridgelines, distances, cold butt syndrome and various other hammock things.
I'm going to try sleeping in a Mayan hammock (indoors) before I shell out for another mattress due to my back problems.
A couple of people mentioned this hammock as being particularly comfortable:
http://www.amazon.com/Hammocks-Rada-...O/ref=pd_ybh_3
note the lady in the pictures
I'm in the UK, so I had a look at various UK options and this hammock caught my eye:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Double-Hammo...dp/B00AKA9BCI/
Hmmm, same lady. Same hammock sold under a different name or just a guy stealing the pictures?
The MacaMex website uses the same photo:
http://b2b.macamex.com/double-hammoc...ion-natur.html
If they are indeed the same hammocks (they both claim to be handmade in Mexico so maybe the makers supply various buyers with the same promo pictures?) that's a good thing as it's hard to get reviews of UK hammocks.
If anyone knows anything about this please let me know.
The other thing I'm unsure about is whether the macamex hammocks are "triple woven" which I hear is important. If you know please say.
This site:
https://www.hammocks.co.uk/hammocks.htm
makes a big thing about how their specific hammocks are super great quality and triple woven and super huge and the BEST BEST BEST available in the UK:
Now, I do want the best, and paying £20 more for a hammock that truly is a lot better is something I don't mind doing, but I'm starting to wonder if every reseller buys the same hammocks from the same manufacturers like for TTTM/ENO/etc
It does concern me that the hammocks.co.uk site doesn't actually give the dimensions, and I wonder if the Chacmool "ultimate hammock" is any better than this MacaMex hammock: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mexican-net-...dp/B00AKC769Q/
So yeah, tell me hangers, should I get the MacaMex XL- Family Natur, the Chacmool from hammocks.co.uk or another one entirely?
(please feel free to use this thread to talk about any Mayan hammock related stuff you want)
