    Hello from Washington

    Hey there. Glad I finally registered on this site. I'm fairly new to hanging and am trying to switch over from tent camping and backpacking. I got the Hennessy Explorer Asym Classic last year and have only used it a couple of times. Love it. So many incredible places to hammock in Washington and it has been bugging me that I have not been using it more. I have been commissioned by my daughter to make a couple of tarps for her and boyfriend hiking the PCT. My wife is great with a sewing machine They are switching over to their ENO DoubleNests soon and need tarps for the OR and WA sections. I have some questions that I will ask in another thread. I really need to learn my knots and practice. I have been reading up a lot the last few days. Glad to be here!

    Welcome to the land of hammocks. I recommend Animated Knots by Grog--an excellent phone app as a handy knot reference. It has many knots that hammock campers use. And you can carry a knife in case you tie the dreaded cussing gob knot.
