Planning to hike the AT need info.

I know some states have adopted the 2 inch tree strap rule. I planning to hike the AT in a few years after I graduate. So I am wondering if there are any states along the AT that enforce the 2 inch strap rule so I know if I need to carry the extra weight.

"In a few years", the legal landscape might change considerably, so a list of what's allowed now might not be that useful. Better to focus on encouraging responsible hanging, so laws don't need to get more restrictive. Sorry, I don't mean that harshly, if that's how it sounds. Just control the things you can, and don't worry about a few grams a few years from now.

Florida STATE parks have a 2inch rule. As far as I know, no other place does. Just be a smart hanger and avoid ropes in other locations to practice LNT theory.
