    Ebay Voile Sheer

So I'm slowly talking my girlfriend in to getting outside with me more and she decided she needs a bug net for her hammock I know a lot of people have used the walmart curtains to make bugnets, but I believe I found an even cheaper option.

Right now they are only $3.66 (free shipping) per 95" panel. My girlfriend's hammock is only 9 feet so a couple of these is plenty big enough to make a fronkey style net for her. Anyone have any experience with these? I' don't see where it can go wrong for 7 dollars. I'll update once they come in.

One of the first DIY projects I ever attempted was a WW Voile Fronky Bug Net. Only thing I added later was I cut back both end to allow a bigger opening. then sewed a two inch strip of material at the ends with a sewn channel. The bigger opening allows you to slide the whole thing over your hammock and even my summer underquilt to one end when I don't want it covering. The channels, some shock cord and cord locks allow you to cinch it up when needed. I'm sure others have done similar mods. Go for it.

I am currently working on a HUG style bug net. I am going to try to put a pole mod in the inside of the net to hold it open above me.

Hey SM, will be watching for more on your HUG. Finished a HyperD a few weeks back and would like to try a HUG. By the way when you get a chance PM me the recipe for the Breakfast you served up at Yankee Springs.

I've been considering doing a hug for the winter season down here. Those colors you've got there look nice.

Thanks! My tarp from UGQ is grey with the purple edging as well. I have been waiting for my poles and scrap fabric from Quest Outfitters to come in which just arrived today. Hopefully I will have time this week to work on the pole mod for the HUG before I head to Boy Scout summer camp next weekend.

Well I just remembered I never updated this thread. The curtain was very stretchy, so kind of annoying to sew. I never got to see the bug net in use though since the girlfriend at the time never used it before she was no longer my girlfriend. That's probably why it didn't work out .

I'd just pony up for real netting next time, especially since this only works for hammocks 9' and under in length.
