what's the weight limit of the gear box? "Likely holds more than you can carry" is a little vague.
The Gear Box is plenty strong. I don't know what it will hold, because I have never broken one. It's a single layer 1.1 oz silnylon hammock, with a braided nylon string suspension integrated with the ridgeline. The purpose of the string is to keep weight down and be the thing that breaks first. If you want to, you can add a stronger suspension that attaches to the gathered ends.
"Likely holds more than you can carry" means go ahead and dump your entyre pack in it, without worry.

These days, I always double stitch the pocket on a Gear Box. The only quality complaint I've ever had was a pocket with loose threads. Got rid of that issue by double stitching them all.
Most Gear Boxes are made from a single piece of ripstop. A few are made with two pieces, taking advantage of the opportunity to use tails and reduce waste. The double stitched seam is always on the bottom. Anyway, that's the only variable in construction.
