WV > Watoga SP>Oct.16-18 2015 Fall Color Hang

Last year a small group of hangers came back to Watoga State Park in October for the Fall color and some great day hikes. I was recently asked if we would do it again, and my arm didn't need much twisting. Watoga's Riverside Campground has great hanging trees and wonderful facilities for Fall camping - love those hot showers! I'll post more info as we get closer, but I'm thinking of having a raffle to benefit the Watoga SP Foundation, with one of my insulated hammocks as a prize. The park is also an ideal place for trail running, so we might organize a race. (I'll be one of the spectators watching the runners circle the lake and head off on one of the trail loops. )

I fell in love with Watoga back when we were there for the MAHHA. Depending on my schedule I will either try for this or MAHHA. Doubt I'll get two weekend off in a row.

Fall MAHHA is Oct 9-11! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

I love biking on The Greenbrier River Trail, which is next to Watoga.

To chose between the the two hangouts is so tough.

Yeah! I don't need an excuse to go to Watoga, but just in case; this is perfect. I expect I can find some useful, little dodads or some gently used gear for a raffle. If I can squeeze it in, I might make something for a raffle.

Exclamation Watoga Hang moved to Oct. 16th-18th

Date change! More people can attend if it's a week later, October 16th to 18th, so I'm changing the dates. I'll contact the mods to get the original post changed or removed, so watch for updates.

If dogs are allowed then ben and I will head that way after MAHHA. Either way count me in for a raffle donation of a hand carved Opinel #6. TT
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

Watoga is extremely friendly to both hammocks and dogs.

Gonna try my best to make it to Watoga. I've fallen in love with this park and area after the one and only MAHHA hang was there. Got to bike the entire Greenbrier trail last year with WVwanderer and helped along the way by WV. Yeah, I need to get back to Watoga!
