    A great event.

I'll be up in Canada's Quetico Wilderness Area for ten days ending on Sept. 24. Grayson is on the way home, so I may try to make the event again this year. Hmmmm, I wonder if my good stainless steel soup pot might be there? :-)

    Tim,

You get the tarp and we'll take the cost out of the raffle proceeds as we did before. Guess it is time to check with some vendors on possible raffle goodies. Everyone is also encouraged to bring any "excess" slightly used or new items they may wish to donate to the raffle. Be sure and tag your name to anything you donate so that an appropriate thank you can be made.

Firewood. Do we want to have park have it delivered and we pay? There are firewood restrictions in VA related to certain pests. Check the restrictions before you bring any wood. It must be free of pests and disease.

Heard a lot of great things about this hang. Maybe this will be the year to attend, to far out to tell yet.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

Yeah, but she fought some good battles with the rain & wind. Maybe I'll bring a square & we'll have a ceremony.
Maybe you could light a feather stick under it!!!

Yes, the raffle is very helpful for the donations made to the State Park as well as a couple group needs (like fire wood).
The group site (& surrounding woods) are provided free for our added interest to Sat festival by way of the Hammock Camping Demonstration.

I hate asking for donations from our good vendors because of the increase of group hangs asking for donations. But hopefully we will have a good selection of raffle prizes. We have so far, from both cottage vendors for hammock camping & individuals joining us.

As for the fire wood, I think it's best to buy local. Easier & safer concerning the Emerald Ash Borer problem.
I can ask Ranger Marcia if they can help us out if you agree.

Marcia's help would be great on the wood.

The spreadsheet has a page for food and raffle items all the way to the right at the bottom of the sheet.
