    Thanks

I was looking at getting the cinche buckle suspension but I am looking to save a little weight. Figured not using anything metal would be a good way to accomplish that.
Looks like I'll have to get some Amsteel and see what I can make happen.
Another thing I read was that the light weight Kevlar straps were very slick...so that may be part of the problem?
OK as promised I got out there tonight after the rain hit but before it got too dark. Here is my current break down:

    Grappler: 1.2 grams
    5' Kevlar Strap: 9.9 grams
    6' Dynaglide line: 5.5 grams
    1.5" Toggle: 0.9 grams
Grand Total: 16.5 grams per side of suspension.

Thoughts: what if I used Zing it or something like that rated to about 600 pounds? What would that actually save? How can I get rid of any toggle in the system? Is there a way to maybe use a "soft" toggle?

OK, so a little clarification on my last post and hopefully some help from guys like the Phantom Grappler. I saw this post yesterday https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...Tied-Cordlocks

So I got this idea that may be hair-brained of maybe inspired. What if I had a sliding "soft toggle" on the dynaglide line. The idea is something like a fat double diamond knot made from something with a high coefficient of friction like spyderline or amsteel which has the dynaglide main support line going down its center. So now I have it above the hammock leader on the line and pull the line on a bite through and over the stopper knot, then finish it with a half hitch.

Sound plausible? I'm a knot novice so I have no idea if this would actually work.

After all these years of hammock progress, SSG Rock your mind never stops finding new ways to meet the goal of world's lightest rig. I've learned a lot from your videos. You are fearless in testing to failure. Thanks

Ok so this isn't vastly different from the other day, but after seeing SGT Rocks system I thought what if the dynaglide wasn't hooked to his strap permanently and the toggled bight was used to hook them together. That makes more sense in the video... I hope.

    Good luck,

Does dynaglide or 7/64 amsteel work better for tying knots?....both in terms of not slipping as well as longevity of the material.

Becket Hitch Suspension; Idea and Questions

Oh, that's a whoopie hook, not a dutch hook. I was surprised when you said you had a dutch hook at the tree.
