    Dutch Clip ?

I'm getting a lot of fraying on the webbing after using the a set of dutch clips for about 20 nights of hanging, is this fairly normal (first hammock...) or am I maybe setting it up wrong? I don't think at this point the strength of the webbing is too compromised but I'm a little worried about it before I get out a few times this summer.

I've been using Dutch clips for a long time with no issues. Make sure the strap attached to the hammock is in as straight a line as possible. The less kink there is in that part of the strap, the better.

To use it correctly, the webbing that the clip is hooking to is pretty much straight. If the webbing makes a hard turn at the clip then it need to be put in on the other side of the tree. You should contact me because it is under warranty. [email protected]

That makes sense...no need for warranty, I'm pretty sure it's just user error on my part. I know in my haste I've clipped it with some curve in the webbing. It otherwise works just fantastic, can't believe something so tiny holds my fat butt up. Might order some new webbing at some point in the next week or two, need to get some lash-it for my tarp flyz anyways! Side and unrelated note....any chance of your half-wit coming double layer? I really like that design, and trying to convince the misses to get into hammocking but also want to it be hold my weight if I decide to....borrow....it.

Fraying is caused by movement, so it should be as close to the final location as possible when you set it up. If there is some slack in the loop around the tree, for example, it would wear over time as it tightened when you put weight in it.
