i have had everything from the explorer asym delux to the deep jungle xl AND hex tarp in the snake skins for 6 years straight in the middle of the rain forest. they get used every single day, including in rainy season and ive never had a wet hammock when rolling it all together. the new chord attachment point however is thicker than the old version and if you pull too hard it will tear as i have found out. new set of snake skins, lesson learned and never had any problems since.

Many years ago, HH had a video of a cute gal setting up and taking down the HH Super Shelter. After she took the pad out of the HHSS and stored it separate, she would wrap the hammock up inside the asym tarp, then put the entire thing inside the snake skins. I never used this particular approach myself, I had my tarp and hammock plus under cover in separate skins. But I always meant to try it, as I talked to some of the young folks at HH and they claimed it always worked great for them and was a great way to keep things dry. The only likely problem I could see is if the underside of the tarp was wet from condensation, seems like I would need to dry it off with an absorbent cloth first.

But would a hex tarp fit? I had the larger skins. Since my under cover and hammock both fit easily, I would guess that with no HHSS UC, there would be room for the hex tarp.

Hey I just filmed a tutorial on how I set up my Hennessy Hammock and how the hammock and rain fly are both contained in the snakeskins (and some other mods on how I set it up) I hope it helps show some detail for you!
