Trying to put together a good system

Just got 3 hammocks from Dutch, a nylon half-wit (for me), an argon net-less, and a nylon net-less (both gifts). Haven't had a chance to test them out yet but the quality looks excellent. Hopefully I can give the half-wit a test run tomorrow. Next week I plan to order an UQ from HG. Planning to purchase a TQ later in the year. Will be using my HH hex tarp for now but want to upgrade to a lighter tarp at some point. Never thought I'd be working overtime to pay for hammock stuff!

Slept in the half-wit last night, very comfortable. The bug net worked well, had 5 skeeter bites just setting up the hammock and tarp but not a single one after I settled in for the night.

I'm just getting started in hammocking and backpacking and have spent way too much already. I agree with rusty on doing it right the first time. I did not. I got a eno jungle nest to start. Did my first 2 night trip over the weekend. Already looking and a new hammock and bug net setup as the eno is too short and hard to get the right hang with it. I already have whoopie and tree strap suspension on my eno so I'm thinking a dutch hammock and fronkey bug net is going to be my next move.

I know from past experience to do it right the first time. I ordered a hammock and bling from Dutch and an underquilt and tarp from UGQ. I did a 20 mile trip last weekend and the new gear worked great.

I am starting to make a HUG bug net tonight and hope to have it finished tomorrow. I am using an old 40 degree sleeping bag for a topquilt for now.

I use a Hammeck Netty and a superfly with the pole mod from Warbonnet - pretty light, not too expensive, and AWESOME - i'm just saying.....
