    Smile Angleworm Trail, BWCA with Shug & Wander'nFool PART 1 & 2

The Angleworm Trail in the Boundary Waters Wilderness Canoe Area has called me now for quite some time. Got my ol' buddy Wander'nFool out for a casual walk around this "Prom Queen" of trails.
It is a 14 mile loop north of Ely, Minnesota.
You must get a permit to hike on this trail as it is in the BWCA. Wilderness. Quiet. No roads. No power lines.
We did three nights and this trail lends itself to slowing down and stopping a lot to take in the Glory. On a three night trip out daily miles were short as it is only 14 miles. We took time to truly enjoy the BWCA. Even got in some day naps in the hammock. Long days up there and we got lucky with very little mosquito and blackflies. Cool days and cooler nights.
    Whooooooooooo Buddy))))))

Every hike begins with the first step and ends with the last one, it is all the steps in between that create all the memories.

It sure looks nice up there in them woods!

Excited to see the rest of the trail and campsites.

The 2 mile portage from the parking lot sure is fun with a canoe. ;-)

Shug, great stuff as always. Love the look of that area. Nothing like peace and quiet! Looking forward to the rest of the ramble there in the BWCA.

Pt 1 pushed me over the edge, chucked my junk in the trunk, leaving suburbia behind to wander the
wilderness...just for a night or two. Not that i needed alot of arm twisting.....
I'll check out Pt 2 when i get back.....
Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.
