Just a little over five weeks to go. Don't forget, I'm bringing extra hammocks with me.

After being there recently, let me warn you of the poison ivy that hugs the already narrow trees. I'd wear shoes that you don't mind getting muddy and pants at all times. The poison ivy was EVERYWHERE. I was hiking the trails in the wilderness area but stopped quickly among some pines because it seemed the only Safe spot and even there was a few plants. It is mostly the ground variety but there were vines too
Get lost in the woods and find yourself again. A vacation,to me, is working with your hands and surviving because of the fruits of your labor. In the business world I teach;in the natural world I learn.

I hope you show up with your cuben fiber tarp. I've never seen one.

I'll do what I can about that! I've it for years now and have been very impressed with it's weight (or lack there of!!) and it's durability. I'm not kidding myself, it wouldn't take much to poke or burn a hole in it but the trade off is worth it to me. I'm counting on this trip; it'll be the first one for me since early spring. I suspect it'll be warm to hot but that's okay.

I'm down for that trip! The R2R portion of the trail on the bluffs is short on streams from what I remember and they shut the spigot off at the trail head last year.

My cuben fiber tarp might be ready by then, as well! Hurry up, Hammock Gear!

There is a stream/ creek that runs alongside the R2R trail in the gardens wilderness area. You can buy a map from the forest headquarters ( which is quite a way from the forest) for like $5 and it is really helpful
