North Carolina, Jordan Lake Vista Point Campground, Pittsboro, NC . October 8th-11th 2015

Well I thought we’d have another hang by the water in NC . This one will be at Jordan Lake’s Vista Point campground site 4. Location: 3199 N. Pea Ridge rd, Pittsboro NC 27312. It’s about 21 miles SW of Raleigh. GPS coordinates -79.05928, 35.70960.
Vista Point: The entrance to Vista Point is on North Pea Ridge Road/SR 1700. Traveling west on US 64, cross the lake, continue 3.7 miles and take a left at the first traffic light onto North Pea Ridge Rd. Continue 2.3 miles to enter Vista Point.
We have it from Thursday October 8th-Sunday October 11th at 3pm. There is a beach, swimming and kayaking, and a volleyball court. It has a bath house with showers and flush toilets as well . Gate is open 8am-8pm. I will be cooking Breakfast Friday and Saturday morning, and dinner Friday and Saturday night. Hope to see ya’ll there.

Hoping to see a few NC lurkers show up at this one. Maybe some noobs? We really do like to meet fellow NC hangers ya know. We have a lot of fun just relaxing and eating. Good chance to ask questions about gear and such, and try out gear as well.

I went ahead and put my name on the list. If nothing comes up between now and then and as long as I don't have duty that weekend I will be there. This will and probably would be the closest hang to me almost in the back yard.

Should be no reason not to make this one. Maybe I will have my new kayak by then.

This is a great group camp site area. I was there last weekend with our Boy Scout troop. Some really beautiful hangs right on the water in site #1 2, & 3, not sure about 4.

Only downside was that there was quite a bit of poison ivy, but they have been doing some localized burns to keep it down

I'm subscribed, but I don't know if I'll be able to make it since this is about the time that the Cub Scouts start their Parent-Son Weekend Camps. Scout Calendar will be finalized in August and I'll let you know. If we can, I'll bring the family and an appetite.
