"Issue" with the standard cuben with doors

Fireflies! When you are half asleep with a see through tarp and they start to light up ... distraction does not do it justice. At one point I woke up a little and thought someone was walking past with a headlamp, freaked me right the heck out.

I actually like the clear nature of the cuben tarp ... kinda like sleeping without the tarp. Of course if moon light is a problem for you sleeping ... probably not your cup of tea. But I like seeing the moon and stars myself.

I have the camo Cuben and I think it offers the best of both worlds. I still detect the stars and the moon but it's muted by the camo design. Also, the shadows of the branches overhead are mixed with the camo design which makes for complex shapes which I like. Still translucent, but not as much as white Cuben.

I only have the camo and agree with Mad, however I would like to get (or try) white at some point to see the difference.

That was why I went to the custom Membrane Sil I had a friend build. I still love the cuben but loving it less as time goes on and I fall more deeply in love with my new tarp.

The fire flies when I was half asleep would have freaked me out too. Very funny story.

At some point I will go with camouflage for the reasons you guys listed. I sleep with the tarp rolled up as much as I can so I'm used to seeing around me and having moonlight in my face. Loving how lightweight this tarp is.
