In a word, yes. It sounds as though you're not laying in the hammock on the diagonal as well. Assuming you have a ridgeline, feet to the right and head to the left of the center line. This is what provides the flatish position in a gathered end hammock.

One other bit of advice.....get thee to a group hang. 'Twould seem thou needest some on site personage tweekage. Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well.

I take my hammock out at least twice a week or more at lunch. I always wind up sleeping like the dead when I do. I wish I could sleep at home that well.
Most of the experience has been with a grand trunk SBP. I just acquired a WBBB and I am still not quite comfortable with it 2 weeks in...

The only thing I miss about ground sleeping is that I had no problem getting up nice and early.

I've been sleeping on and off in a WBBB and a DIY in HyperD in the backyard. Both 10'-6" ish. Still tweaking the lay. Once in a while I still wake with a bit of neck pain. I added a DIY pillow that has helped. small 8 x 13". Being a chronic back pain sufferer from two crushed vertebra it's a minor trade off. I'm sure I can tweak the neck thing to elimination. Hammock sleep for me is total bliss. I sleep better, longer, less restless and when I do finally decide to roll out, the only thing I feel is, Do I really want to get up. I'm certain Hammock sleeping takes some getting use too. Lots of good advice in this thread.
