Hey everyone, I had purchased some SilPoly version 2.0 awhile back and finally got around to making my tarp. I really like the material and after reading the discussions regarding the lack of stretch, I decided to forgo the cat cuts. The material is good to work with but it is still very slippery. The dimensions are 154"x109".
I am very happy with the way it turned out. I haven't decided if I will add side tie outs yet. I thought I would try it out a few times before I make my decision. After I completed the tarp and hung it up, I was happy to see I could pitch it very tight and it stays that way even after an overnight of heavy dew.
So here it is...
Rolled hem around the perimeter.

I made my corner reinforcements out of some ripstop I had on hand that I had purchased a long time ago from Hancock Fabric.

Next I used 1 inch grosgrain to make my tie outs. I doubled over the width of the grosgrain and stitched it to make the tie outs stronger and to fit the line loc 3. I used the grosgrain unfolded for the ridge line tie outs. I added heavy duty Triangles for the ridge line.

I seam sealed it with SilNet and so far it seems to adhere good. Since I haven't made a stuff sack or snake skins yet, I didn't weigh it but will post the final weight once I decide on the storage method.
Thanks for looking!
