The ultimate temp rating of a quilt or apparel is subject to several variables, but as a rough guide, the following temperature ratings can be expected when using single-layers of Climashield® APEX insulation:

    2.5 oz - 50° F
    3.6 oz - 40° F
    5.0 oz - 30° F
    7.5 oz - 10° F
Giving insulation a specific temperature range has got to be an absolute nightmare for the manufacture. No wonder these tables are so hard to find. With that, I was wondering if there as been an attempt to find the same info for the Primaloft Gold & Silver, also offered by RBTR.

Yeah, is that sleeping naked, or is 6 layers of thermals with a parka on ??

And does it mean you'll be toasty warm, or that you won't die of hypothermia?

There is a big "margin" with any temp rating. I always take them with a grain of salt.

I've made 3 quilt sets using 5.0 CS and HyperD 1.0oz calendared fabric for both sides. So far we've going into the high 30s with no issues and I suspect we will get to 30 before having to have more than a t-shirt and shorts on. As always YMMV.
