My experience has been the same as above.I ues down or synthect depending on the expected conditions.

kind of funny to me--- little dog & cat like their pad. The Bouvie paws it out of the way. I think maybe the big pup has condensation issues where the Chi's just like the softness and warmth. Lucky for us humans we have many choices to select from.

I noticed a post commenting on people like me who post on threads about something that has been tried but not adopted.

For me I am often interested in discussion. Maybe I might learn something I do not know. Plus for new members reading a variety of view points is often helpful in finding their OWN best hang.

When I first started Hanging I stuffed my carbiner and hammock in their bag. When ai went to use the the hammock the next time part of the carbiner had rubbed a hole in the hammock. Now I am very careful about anything that protrudes. I even make sure all my hair pins are removed before I enter my hammock.
Tnx for the reply Ironfish45. Not sure I follow....I know what you are trying to do but I don't see how you are using the "circle of innertube" to cover the stem.

Innortalviking, In another post, someone was assign for cold weather advice because they got really cold with their sleeping bag and pad (and UQ!) with a hammock setup. The big issue with the pad inside the sleeping bag is the pad is not breathable. So you can get sweaty. And usually you want to minimize air gaps and a sleeping bag is usually designed to hug your body. A pad can create gaps if it pushed the sleeping bag away and it could prevent the hugging effect.

But try it. Experience is usually a good teacher.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
