Good hammock for a tall guy?

Hey fellow hammockers!

I was introduced to hammock camping last summer and fell in love with it immediately. I bought an ENO DoubleNest as my first hammock (that was the only hammock I knew at the time, and my friend who introduced me to hammocking had one). After numerous camping trips, I fear that I have bought a hammock that is just too dang short. I am a tall dude, about 6' 6" and 180lbs, and I have never been able to find a comfortable lay in the DoubleNest. Being in college, I am not looking to spend a bunch on a hammock, but I am willing to splurge a bit on a more expensive hammock if it will fit me better. Any ideas for a good hammock for me?

im still fairly new. im 6'1 and went with a Hennessy hammock. safari deluxe. that goes up to 7' and 350lbs. i think its great. =)

I am 6'4. 280 and highly recommend Dream Hammocks. I have a 11' nighthawk and I enjoy ever moment in it. I even hang inside!

Check out the Hammeck Netty, Envy or EnvyS made out of ACU Camo. I am 6ft2 and 275+ lbs and I have a EnvyS made with the ACU fabric and that thing is very large in side and I find it super comfortable.

6'1 and alittle over 400 lbs and my Thunderbird double made from the Hyper D fabric is awesome and now Dream hammocks has it in 72 inch widths.

I just went through the same deal. I had an eno Doublenest and the 112 inch length was way too short for me. When I tried to lay diagonally I would invariably get pressure on my calf. The Eno is cool to fall back in and relax, but getting into a comfortable sleep position for the night is a whole different matter.

I dont think a Hennesy would do you much better, as they are the same length (112 inches).

I recommend you get an 11 foot (or longer) hammock. I have found that length is much more important than width. I ended up with a 12 foot SLD trail lair and don't have any issues sleeping.

I'm 6'3 @ 235 and my skeeter beater alway's give's me a good sleep, probally 50 to 60 hangs in it. Happy hanging

+1 on the 11 ft. Dutch hammocks. Inexpensive and you don't have to commit to a particular lay direction.
