Just purchased 4S New River Regular UnderQuilt and it states it can be used as a TQ because it is rectangular. Does anyone have experience with this?

No experience with this. But it's worth a try. A May just give it a try. Thanks.

Ha! Tree Frog, she bought it from me.
If you send a note to Paul at AHE (or a PM... He's on here all the time), I'm sure he can give specific instructions. He's awesome!

I'm pretty sure there will be some kind of secret zipper, a jar of Red Hot, 2 camels, some shock cord, and a nalgene bottle filled with make syrup.
Yup, that's pretty much all there is to it. Use it like a blanket. You could cinch the end shock cord a little to cup that end a bit but you won't get a full on foot box or anything like that...hence why we came up with an actual top quilt to add to the KAQ line. The New River as a top quilt is just a blanket, the Owhyee Top Quilt is a full on top quilt with the ability to form a foot box and no Under quilt suspension to get in your face during the night.

No secret zipper?
Sounds like a good idea
I suppose you could add some snaps along what you want to be the foot end to make a snap foot box, but that'd be a huge foot box! KAQ's are reasonably priced, so I'd see if you like the insulation, pack-ability and such and then order a dedicated top quilt. I have a 3 season New River and it lofts more than my 40* down tq with 2oz of overstuff
