I do this often, at least on every winter trip when it gets dark at 4:50PM! I just have one piece of shockcord with a loop on each end for my iPhone 6.

I'm sure there can be lots of variations on this theme.

Everything worked great for a few nights, until I had to pack everything up for a hike. I think I'll try some gear ties when I put it back together next month, they should make it easier to take the iPad in and out.

I was just telling my wife that I wanted to create a hanging system for my iPhone so I could watch netflix

Had to test DIY hammock and tarp setup this weekend before sending it off for a wedding present(product testing is tough). Thought I would watch a movie the second night and after a short search decided on two short whoopie slings out of 1.75 lash-it with eyes just the right size to go through the fold in the case and the second to catch the bottom corners. Went with two slings so I could adjust the angle of the screen and hooked them both to the same S Biner off the ridgeline. Worked like a charm and enjoyed the ESPN doc. on the 85' Bears

My youngest daughter just uses her selfie stick. Leaves the selfie stick hanging from the ridge line...pops her device easily in and out as she comes and goes.
