Ok, this may not be an ODH event, per se, but, as was discussed at PowHaW, I am heading down to Smoked Butt on the afternoon of the 27th of May. Several of our members had expressed an interest in getting together for the trip. This thread of for everyone who wishes to join in to sound off.
I will be leaving the Richmond area, as it stands now, around 5PM on Wednesday the 27th. I may be able to leave out a bit earlier, depending on the work situation. I shall be departing from downtown Richmond, next to the DMV building but we can arrainge an Assembly Area somewhere south, along the I-95 to Chester area, if needs be. The Colonial Heights Wally World might be good as I shall probably need ice any way.
We will be moving down I-95 to Petersburg and getting on I-85 to Falls Lake near Raleigh. If anyone has not been there before, it is not hard to find. We will be making a pitstop near the Virginia/NC border.
I will have 2 meter simplex capability, for those who are HAMS. I should, if all goes well, be pulling a good sized trailer with a canoe, kayak and my DO's, cooler and gear. I may have some extra room for gear. I do not know if I will have an extra seat or not. I do know I am bringing two other folks already.
Ok, Anyone who wants to join in, just let me hear from you. If you wish to meet up along the route, put it down and drop me a PM. If you are coming from a different area of the state and want to do this from, say, Roanoke, or VaBeach, feel free to use this thread also. As long as you are ODH.
