Angry Molly Mac Gear Box and whoopie slings

So I got a MMGB and a pair of 6' whoopies from Dutch. Right now I've got the whoopies larks head knotted to the "ridgeline" loops out each end. This doesn't seem the best way. It would appear that Mac has the whoopies on his in the video/pictures around the gathered end itself. I tried this once, but I don't know if I was doing something wrong, because it made the gear box rather unstable. It wanted to spin over and dump my stuff out. So I was wondering, did I just have the location of my larks head of the whoopie in at the wrong spot? Do I need to attach the whoopie to the gear box ridge line in another way?

    What am I doing wrong?

Nope, I've got my string tied to the loops provided. I think you have to if you want it to work right. Give it some more slack, don't string it up too tight. I usually tie mine up at eye level, giving sufficient sag. Never had a problem before with mine.

That's it... it was too tight.

Can't put a ridgeline on it, 'cause it would block access. You just have to give it plenty of sag.

BTW, I've never used Whoopie Slings on a Gear Box... good idea, but it really isn't critical how it hangs.
