Anyone experienced with using cuben fiber tape (CT-PSA-0.5 and CT-PSA-1.0)?

I'm about to try my hand at whipping up a simple stuff sack or bishop bag with cuben fiber. I bought a half yard of cuben and some of the cuben tape Dutch sells (CT-PSA-0.5 and CT-PSA-1.0) and haven't been able to find any guidance online on how to use that style of tape.

There are lots of videos and posts of making cuben items with 3M 9460 VHB tape, but nothing which really mentions the CT-PSA- products. I'm assuming it doesn't need a primer like the 3M stuff does, is that true? Any special tips to using this stuff versus the 3M tape? Any online resources I can be pointed at which walk you through its use?

    Thanks for any tips!

I have made many stuff sacks with and with out 3M primer and I have used several different bonding tapes and have not noticed a difference The 3M Primer does help to ensure a good bond but IMO you do not need it for stuff sacks. If I was making a cuben tarp then I would definitely use the primer.

Just cut the bonding tape about 1/4 to 1/5 longer than the seam. Remove the backing and apply the sticky side to the cuben fiber. Use you finger nail to press the tape into the cuben. Remove the backing on the other side of the tape and place the cuben fiber onto it and press. If you get some wrinkles do not panic. You can then use your fingers to rub off the excess tape.

Here is a link that may help. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ed-Stuff-Sacks

Thanks gunnar. Those were great resources. My stuff sack didn't turn out exactly as I expected, but I'll find a use for it just the same. I'm sure #2 will turn out much better.

Almost all my work has been with 9460 and primer, but early tests comparing other bonding materials suggest that many materials work well. I think gunner76 got it exactly right.
