VIDEO....Appalachian Trail-I40 to Hot Springs, NC

I went back to the AT first of May for a few days. Had a great trip, good weather, a little buggy, many wild flowers in bloom (along with my hay fever). I've never seen Trillium so abundant in bloom in my life, it was quite a sight. Tag along with me if you like.

Loved it! Our "Area of Operation" is north of Hot Springs, so it was fun to see the AT south of there. Thanks for posting, Firebird!

P.S. Love that accent! Where are you from? Eastern NC?

I see you tryin' to wear those legs out again. Looks like a nice trip. Thanks for bringing us along.

Got my ArcBlast yesterday - thinking of coming to the Uwharries on Wed or Thurs for 2 or 3 days. Let me know if you will be around.

You live in a beautiful "AO" there Pips and by the way I saw a lot of you're namesake along the trail also. Accent????? You're right, eastern NC. Thanks for watching!

You only live once..Wear-um-out!! I covered @ 140 miles in April but hadn't done any major climbs since Tall Paul, Natalie, and I were at Standing Indian around Easter so I had to get re-acclimated. That and allergies and some other issues made oxygen at a premium so it was quite a haul for me. I want to see your pack and I should be around so shoot me an email if you go. Thanks for watching Pal!

Nice video Firebird. Looks like there were bugs at the lower elevations. What is the new pack, and what happened to your Arc Blast. I need to get off my butt and get back on the trail.

Hey Bonepile, you really do need to get back on the trail, let me know. My Arc Blast has @ 3000 miles on it and is starting to show some wear. On one of those cold, rainy, Jan days, sitting in front of the computer with a credit card (sometimes called a "Retailer's Delight") I ordered a ULA Circuit to see if it was a little more comfortable on my lower back. I've put @ 400 miles on it so it's time to try the Arc Blast again and compare. It's a nice pack though. Thanks for watching.
