Tarp suggestions

I have the Kijaro Ultra Tarp, is a nice tarp overall at the price, is designed for hammocks it has cat-cuts a longer ridgeline and it's actually lighter just the tarp and stuff sack 780 grams or 28 oz, the fabric is a ripstop nylon and silicone impregnated and seam sealed, it has 3 tie out points in each side 3 at the ridgeline also can be tied out at the sides, is a longer tarp but not too large at the sides only 7.5 foot for both of them, the cord that comes with it cheap it like paracordish but the fibers inside bubbles out so i remove the core and use only the outer part makes it a bit longer and lighter, the tarp has the option to roll up the 4 corners to make a dimond type tarp wich is a nice feature, i have been using it for more than a year is nice for 3 season tarp nice coverage, it is a great summer tarp but for a monsoon or windy rain definitely an underquilt protector is a must for extra protection also a Grizz Beak or some sort of removable doors for a wind breaker will be a nice thing to add if the conditions are a bit harsh.

I just ordered a Membrane SilPoly tarp from Mountain Wilderness.

I'm super interested in the Silpoly tarp from Mountain Wilderness. When you receive yours, would you mind posting your thoughts on it? I've heard conflicting accounts of Silpoly's durability and would like to know your first impressions. Thanks!

I use the WB Edge until it gets downright chilly. When it gets downright chilly I switch to the Super Fly.

SuperFly...and never look back. I just used it during 48 hours of non stop rain. We remained completely dry.

I purchased a Superfly and just used it on a weeklong backpacking trip. It rained overnight on three of the nights and it kept me and my gear completely dry. I am really pleased with the SF so far. I'm glad I bought it.

I'll report in on the MW tarp after I get it. He's been very attentive thus far in the process. I'm a little nervous about the Membrane silpoly's fragility, but initial reports have been positive

I have been using a MatCat Deluxe from Outdoor Equipment Suppliers. Doesn't have doors, but I can cinch down one end pretty tight if there is a lot of wind and it does a pretty decent job, although a bit more claustrophobic than one with doors and side pull outs. IMHO unless you are winter camping the "hang a tent around your hammock" tarps just seem to be overkill and extra weight. That being said you also don't get the privacy (which doesn't bother me) that big ones can provide.
