I got the 3-season, I believe the rating was 25* but I can't see me staying warm in it that low. I've only used it in the back yard a couple of nights and it's warm now so it's hard to say exactly how low I can go in it but I'm guessing about 40*, maybe 32* with good base layers. I like the quilt and have no regrets getting it. It'll get plenty of use on float trips and car camping but I'll order a down piece for backpacking, not only for the added warmth but for the space savings as well.

Question for the people who mentioned taking a Jarbidge with them on a weekend/3-4 day trip (randomsteve95370, matt88, pgibson, somniferous): was it a 1 season Jarbidge or a 3 season Jarbidge? Asking because I'm wobbling between getting a 1 season or a 3 season Jarbidge as my first underquilt due to concerns about the additional bulk of the 3 season.

Where I live here in Idaho I use 3 season gear most of the year. I get up to 9000 feet in our mountains with many of the camps over 8000'. That means we can get snow any day on the calendar. And while snow is not a guaranteed factor, a low comes through that drops the temp 40° overnight is not all the unusual. So for out here my kit always has 3 season rated quilts. In some areas like Texas and Florida a 1 season quilt will take most folks for almost year round use. The bulk difference from the 1 season to the 3 season is about 25-30%....take a look at out Care and Cleaning Video on the How to vids page to see the 3 season packed and compressed to get an idea what your actually looking at.....so it's not a huge jump. I recommend that folks pick the rating that they need for most of their use. If you only hanging in temps above 45° then the 1 season would be fine. If you're regularly going to get a chance at freezing then the 3 season makes more sense even at a slight bulk difference.

This past weekend, overnight lows here were in the upper 50s, low 60s. My son used his new 1 season Jarbidge and I used my 3 season. I was very comfortable. I just didn't "cinch it up" super tight. Only used a fleece blanket for a top quilt and was super comfortable (I'm normally a cold sleeper).

I have the 1S, 3S and 4S Jarbriges. Depending on what I am packing I will put the Jarbrige in a compression bag and strap it to the out side of my back pack to save room
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Late to the party - but the Jarbidge was my first "real" underquilt, and I don't really feel like I need anything else. I have the 3 season and it has performed really well from 80 degrees down to the high 20s.

Would you mine posting a side by side picture of the three of them? It would be really helpful for people who are on the edge about whether to get the 1S or the 3S, or the 4S or the 3S, at least I think so.

I still use my Jarbridge. It works very well especially if you are in a wet environment where you risk getting a down underquilt wet.
